Gaming for academic gain

The software publisher behind such games as The Sims and Medal of Honour is to carry out research in secondary schools to explore how popular computer games can be used to help learning.

Electronic Arts will be working with the NESTA Futurelab research centre in Bristol on the project, which will begin next month and involve four UK schools and others across Europe. Results are expected to be published in August 2006.
