Get Global

Get Global is a teacher’s guide to delivering global citizenship in the classroom. It allows students to move through many stages - first they think about the issues that are important to them, then they plan and participate in action, and finally they assess their work. All activities are participatory and they promote a skills-based approach, rather than a content-driven one.

The booklet starts by setting setting out the Get Global process.

Each step includes activities, templates and useful tips for delivering active global citizenship.

Section two outlines assessment and evaluation activities and section three includes ideas for games.

The booklet also includes a wealth of photocopiable worksheets to support each activity. A video demonstrates how the Get Global process has been used with students in a variety of schools.

Overall this resource takes a fresh approach to delivering a subject which a lot of teachers find quite challenging. Its most striking feature is the fact that its activities are skills based and highly participatory.

It is very well structured and students take the lead at each stage of the Get Global process.
