It was disappointing to see Maggie Scott of the Association of Colleges in your report (“Ofsted to stop visiting lessons”, FE Focus, September 8) call for inspectors’ attention to be diverted towards work-based learning.
Providers that deliver such courses including colleges, have been subject to rigorous inspections for almost a decade.
Perhaps it is time for the AoC to bring itself up to date on the true facts in our shared mission to improve standards.
