(Photograph) - Get your goats: students at King James’s school, Knaresborough, North Yorkshire already keep three goats on their school farm. Now they have bought another 33, cost pound;1,000, for the FARM-Africa charity. The charity loans African farmers pure-bred goats to cross with native ones.
The cross-breeds have milk yields six times higher than native goats, improving nutrition for children and generating cash from surplus milk sales.
