Give governors a break

Ed Dorrell thinks that "perhaps we should welcome meddling politicians, governing bodies and right-wing newspapers blathering on about teaching" ("Behind closed doors, only teachers know what works", Editorial, 13 September). As a chair of governors, I don't know which I object to most: being described as meddling and as blathering on about teaching or being bracketed with politicians and right-wing newspapers. If TES really believes that is what governing bodies do, perhaps it can explain in a longer article. If it was an unfortunate typo then maybe an apology to governors is in order.
