What does your writing say about you? Elaine Quigley explains The calligraphic script and thick ink show a strongly visual and earthy approach to life. Ms Lane operates first and foremost through her senses, and presentation is important to her. Her signature is readable but also stylish. That means she is upfront and puts herself wholeheartedly into projects.

The rich stroke shows a good visual memory. She assimilates information easily through reading and enjoys visual experiences.

She has a certain amount of self-consciousness. This may make her subjective at times, but people she deals with know she will do a thorough job. The curve in the lower zone and the similarly shaped “t” bars show her wish for harmony in relationships. She tries to avoid conflict and prefers to resolve disputes by talking things over. She always tries to do her best, but not always without a struggle.

Some of the lower zone letters touch the upper parts of letters from the line below, which indicates that when she is not given time to think, she is prone to stress. Even though she responds instinctively, she likes to work analytically.

Ms Lane is good at collecting information and resenting it. She is warm and friendly, but needs her own space.

Catherine Lane is headteacher of Highfield school in Maidenhead, Berkshire When she talks about being earthy does she mean I have a laddish sense of humour or that I am close to nature? She’s right about the strong visual sense - I would have liked to have been an artist or garden designer. And I can look at a view forever. My colleagues would agree that presentation is important to me.

Probably my worst trait is self consciousness. I want things to be right and will push myself until they are, but I understand that not everyone operates like me. I don’t like confrontation - I often think I should be more confrontational. I always tell staff I have a long fuse but if you get to the end of it you will know. I had no idea this would be so accurate.
