If you want to get pupils moving after a chocolate-filled Easter break, there’s still time to get involved in Walk to School Week (16-20 May). TES Resources has a range of materials and activities, including a road safety game, information sheets on the health benefits of walking to school, and posters and flyers. Teachers and pupils can plan routes and count steps for maths and science lessons. There are links to the organisers’ lesson plans and ideas for a lesson about how African children travel to school.

The TES web team is hosting a week-long advice clinic for prospective student teachers. If you’re starting teacher training in September 2011, get your questions answered 16-20 May by teacher trainer James Williams from the University of Sussex and other experts.
