I WAS interested to read your article on the integration of special needs pupils (TES, August 4) outlining the good work being developed in Gwynedd.
While I applaud positive developments that recognise the benefits of integration, access to the broader curriculum and maintaining appropriate specialist expertise, this is actually nothing new.
For over a decade in xfordshire similar developments have been taking place linking special and mainstream schools in all phases. While we celebrate developments in Gwynedd, let us also acknowledge the hard work and dedication over many years in other parts of the country.
