TELEVISION star Carol Vorderman this week gave her backing to new government guidelines introduced to protect pupils against Internet paedophiles. The guidance, which is displayed on the Department for Education and Employment’s Internet safety website (http:safety.ngfl.gov.uk), covers everything frompupils’ emails and chat rooms to school websites and filtering systems. Ms Vorderman said: “This is an issue which is exploding. I think schools and teachers will welcome this guidance as many are unsure themselves as to the best thing to do. The priority must be the protection of children.”
