Bill Rammell (“Short on credit”, FE Focus, September 22) claims that funding has increased, disadvantaged adults have been prioritised and that resources are focused on those that need it most.
If only this were true. Programmes for those with learning difficulties andor disabilities post-19 have been reduced in quantity, variety and length. And the access to a broad range of educational opportunities designed to meet this marginalised group’s needs has declined significantly and may be worse than under the Further Education Funding Council.
In fact, it is harder than ever to find relevant, specific, flexible and progressive educational programmes taught by experienced, qualified and motivated staff.
Funding may have increased but it is not reaching those with specific needs.
