Grammar amiss in tables’ titles

I was concerned that your value-added league tables were rather misleading (TES, January 16). The headings to your tables are “Top state schools at GCSEA-level”. These tables do not, however, include any state grammar.

Tonbridge grammar school achieved an average A-level point score per student of 415.7 and an average point score per exam of 104.0. I am concerned that your readers might assume, from the tables, that all grammar schools had achieved less well than the comprehensives you listed. Perhaps it would have been less misleading if the tables had been headed “Top state comprehensive schools?”
