Grammars win selection plea

The High Court has quashed a decision by the schools adjudicator to order two grammar schools to reduce the number of pupils selected by ability.

Watford boys’ and girls’ grammar schools won the ruling last week after arguing that adjudicator Philip Hunter’s decision would have adversely affected the ethos of both schools.
