The parents of St Paul’s primary in Hurlford, aided and abetted by Alex Neil, prospective SNP candidate in Kilmarnock, are still lining up a Court of Session battle with Labour-controlled East Ayrshire Council. Twenty children were this week still attending the officially closed primary.

With a judicial review pending, parents are being assisted by Edinburgh solicitors, Erskine and Macaskill. Leading partner, Kenny Macaskill, doubles as SNP national treasurer. Not that this is a political issue.
