In response to your front-page story “Ministers tell governors to be more than ‘cheerleaders’” (TES Cymru, October 15), governing bodies can do so much to support the learning and well-being of the children, young people, families and communities they serve.
If we believe that all schools must be community-focused to be effective, then a good way of doing that is to develop as a cluster with other schools and partners in the community. The idea, then, of governing bodies collaborating and federating is a natural way forward. ContinYou Cymru, in its work supporting schools to be community focused, sees where this is the natural step and is able to help support this cluster-based, collaborative approach.
