The gap between schools in the state and private sector will widen if the Government refuses to let comprehensives teach the Inter-national GCSE, an exam board said this week.
Ministers are consulting on allowing the state sector to teach IGCSEs, used by around 200 private schools. Cambridge Assessment, which offers the exams, said it was wrong that fee-paying pupils could take them while those at state schools could not.
