Literacy Ages 3 to 5

“Who am I?” Once children have heard a number of fairy tales and are familiar with different characters then try this game with them. It can be used as a time filler or as part of a literacy lesson to develop speaking and listening.

Sit the children in a circle then begin asking “Who am I?” Give them clues such as “I have two stepsisters,” then “The Prince invited me to a ball”.

Keep giving clues until someone raises their hand and says: “Are you Cinderella?”

That child then stands up and gives clues about who he or she is. It works well with other kinds of stories as well.
