Seventy per cent of Shetland’s 3- to 5-year-olds will be involved in Scottish Opera’s second interactive opera for pre-school children, Big Hairy Hamish - The Monster Who Cared. Written by Allan Dunn and with a score by Alan Penman, Big Hairy Hamish aims to raise awareness of recycling among young children, as well as looking at key issues such as healthy eating.

The opera has been touring Aberdeen, Shetland and Edinburgh in September and October.
