Nearly nine out of 10 Highland teachers are satisfied with their pay following the post-McCrone deal, but half of senior school managers and promoted staff say they have too much work. A third of classroom staff report too much work. An employee survey found that teachers want more support from the education department for dealing with difficult pupils and cutting their workload. They also want more varied professional development opportunities. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the majority of nursery nurses and teaching assistants (64 per cent) are dissatisfied with their pay.
