The conference will take place at Murrayfield stadium in Edinburgh and will be opened by Raymond Robertson, the Education Minister.
Other speakers will include George MacBride, the convener of the education committee of the Educational Institute of Scotland; Alistair Tyre, the principal of Langside College, Glasgow; and Dr Joan Stringer, who is currently the assistant principal of Robert Gordon University, and is soon to become principal of Queen Margaret College in Edinburgh.
Ron Tuck, the chief inspector in charge of the Higher Still programme, will respond to points made by speakers from the sectors of education affected by the new courses and exams and by members of the audience, among whom it is hoped there will be many practising teachers and lecturers.
Also representing the Scottish Office, which is co-operating with The TESS in the conference, will be Douglas Osler, head of the inspectorate, who will give the final talk.
Details of how to register for the conference will appear in next week's TESS.
