New figures released by the Scottish Executive show 69,885 students completed a higher education course in Scotland in 2004-05, which is 4,000 more than the previous year. Of those, 42 per cent obtained a degree, 34 per cent a qualification below degree level and 24 per cent a postgraduate qualification. There were fewer graduates in engineering and technology.
Scotland-based graduates rose by 4 per cent, and the number of foreign students rose by 20 per cent.
