A primary head and the families of pupils whom he is trying to save from deportation met Home Office minister Tony McNulty this week.

Jed Morgan, head of St John’s Catholic primary, Rochdale, urged Mr McNulty to follow the UN children’s rights convention and not deport children who have lived here more than two years. Some of the eight pupils under threat have been here for more than four years.
