The head of a Cumbrian primary school has been suspended over allegations of misconduct.

Joe Peacock, head of Belah School in Carlisle, was told not to return to work two weeks ago by chair of governors Martin Shields.

The National Association of Head Teachers general secretary David Hart met with Cumbria’s chief education officer John Nellist last week to discuss the case. The union is investigating the legality of his suspension and the possibility of an appeal to the Secretary of State.
