Ministers say they have the support they need to change the way heads and deputes are appointed. A consultation indicates “overwhelming support” for most of the reforms to involve parents in appointments, the Education Minister says. Peter Peacock will make it “obligatory” to involve parents in selection processes but leave it to the new parent councils to decide on levels of involvement.
