The Catholic head of a school run by a Christian sect has won undisclosed damages after claiming she was forced out of her job. Sue Collins, 54, took the Three Counties Education Trust, a school run by the Exclusive Brethren, to a tribunal in May claiming unfair dismissal. It was alleged the sect, which says women are “helpmates” to men, replaced her with a male member of the group and cut her hours and pay. This week she accepted an out-of-court settlement prior to the start of a second hearing.
