It’s probably easier to tell children to eat fruit and vegetables five times a day - as the World Health Organisation recommends - than to convince them that they want to. The Waitrose Food Explorers packs Fruit First and Vital Vegetables enable primary pupils to find out more about healthy eating habits and enjoying a variety of classroom challenges. These include numeracy and literacy activities, as well as still-life drawing or creating a recipe using tasty samples of the real thing. It’s a long way from the harassed claim that eating up your greens will put hair on your chest. You can apply for the Food Explorers Fruit First and Vital Vegetables packs in Waitrose stores or at www.waitrose.com
