Healthy snacks replace sugar

A secondary school this week became one of the first in the country to remove sugary snacks from its vending machines and replace them with a healthier alternative.

The 1,200 pupils at the Queensbury school in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, now have the choice of organic and natural drinks and snacks from the eight Green Machine units.

Snacks on offer include additive-free cereal bars, organic orange juice and mineral water.
