The partnership, managed by the Glasgow Forest Education group, is one of several projects in the area which aim to use woodlands to improve people's health. Citywide, the project will establish three forest schools in Glasgow and help teachers, parents and pupils to use local woods for learning. Pupils will learn to use tools, build shelters, do forest crafts and participate in activities that promote team building and their own physical health and well-being.
The first forest school for Glasgow is taking root in Drumchapel, thanks to a partnership between the city council and Forestry Commission Scotland.
