Here’s looking at poo

We try and get rid of it as quickly as possible; Egyptian vultures prefer to eat it to entice the opposite sex and dung beetles revel in the stuff.

We are talking about poo, the subject of the latest exhibition at the Walter Rothschild Zoological Museum in Tring, Hertfordshire. “Poo: A Natural History of the Unmentionable” will tell you what’s in the stuff, where it goes and reveal its myriad of uses in the natural world. As well as handling some real samples, adventurous visitors can take a whiff of some artificially created odours. The exhibition ties in with the Nicola Davies book of the same name and artwork from the book will be featured alongside the exhibits and interactives. The exhibition runs until November 28, admission is free. For opening times and exhibition details, Tel: 020 7942 6171; www.nhm.ac.ukmuseumtring
