Singer Kelis, who trained to be a chef in Paris, will share cookery tips, Emmerdale stars and married couple Jeff Hordley and Zoe Henry will share their love of gardening and Dame Darcey Bussell will demonstrate traditional African dance moves.

Martin Bashir will give a history class on his hero Dr Martin Luther King while The Chase star and former maths teacher Mark Labbett will offer tips to help children with their multiplication and division.

The series will begin with Ms Horner, who has written several children’s books, offering tips on creating a great story and developing character, setting and plot.

She will also show viewers around her farm and the animals that she sometimes takes inspiration from.

During his lesson, astronaut Major Peake will give tips for surviving in space including how to eat, drink and go to the toilet.

Celebrity chef Mr Blumenthal will explain the difference between taste and flavour in his lesson and show children how to make the ultimate strawberry sundae.

He said: “I chose to make a strawberry ice cream sundae which I hope inspires the younger viewers and their families to get cooking and begin a deeper relationship with their food.”

Match Of The Day star Mr Lineker will teach his pupils how to count from one to ten - while playing keepie uppie in his garden - before moving on to other useful words and phrases.

He said: “I am delighted to be involved with CBBC’s Celebrity Supply Teacher series. Learning Spanish when I moved to Barcelona in 1986 was good fun. It helped me then and ever since. Enjoy the experience. It’s exciting!”

Celebrity Supply Teacher begins on 8 June on CBBC and BBC iPlayer.
