* Digital Video Editing Comes of Age New digital video cameras from Sony, like the hand-size model TRV900E, feature broadcast-quality video and a “firewire” interface that allows simple connection and editing on a PC. Digital Origin(formerly Radius) has just launched an excellent Moto DV Firewire card and software for the PC or Mac (pound;299 plus VAT) that allows full-screen capture and computer editing of movies direct from these digital camcorders.
Apple’s QuickTime 3.0 software then allows you to cut and paste movie clips with ease. It may well become the word processor of the video age. With the new Apple G3 computers, Firewire ports are built-in and the quality of video capture is breathtaking.
