We have felt the high costs of exams (“Exam bills soar”, TES, February 24).
With the decline of VCE and GNVQ and introduction of BTEC, we decided to change a vocational engineering course to BTEC first diploma and an art course to BTEC national, both with Edexcel.
We registered three students for the national award, at a cost of pound;102 each, plus a late registration fee of pound;51 each and small cohort fee of pound;300. Total cost per student, pound;253 for one course. The cost per engineering student was pound;195.50.
Is it any wonder that fees are rising with bills such as these?
