Highland holiday is snow joke

PARENTS who like to sun themselves off peak on some far-flung beach have been well warned about the damage to children by removing them from the classroom.

Highland was one authority to issue a caution. That was before snow closed schools for two days, thus denting Standard grade performance by 0.000015 per cent, or something akin to that.

Over at Inverie primary in remote Knoydart, the community had an even better excuse for skipping a day - staff and pupils were up all night fighting a moor fire and were knackered.
