THE QCA is taking a sober approach to the festive season. No wasting taxpayers’ money on frivolous staff parties, no sirree.
Nevertheless, pulses quickened when staff at QCA central saw the venue for this year’s staff conference on December 13: the Hippodrome, Leicester Square.
Alas, it’s a real conference, on (groan) staff development, without a glass of warm white wine in sight and no prospect of Nick Tate strutting his stuff on the dancefloor. The Hippodrome is simply one of the few places big enough for 450 people.
“It’s not a jamboree,” sighs one official. “It ends at 4.30pm.”
