The new National Maritime Museum Cornwall reflects the county’s rich seafaring history. Located on the Falmouth waterfront, it contains 12 galleries of ultra-modern, interactive designs from shipwrights, architects, film-makers and digital image engineers. Visitors can control the movement of boats racing around a pool and listen to 12 historic seafaring stories. They can also see the Flotilla of 27 boats suspended in mid-air to show how their shape assists them in the wind and water. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall opens fully in February 2003.
