History on the move

With so much attention on the railways, for all the wrong reasons, it is something of a relief to visit the bright new Learning On The Move website. Funded by the Department for Education and Skills, it brings together the work of five national transport museums (trains, trams, motors, buses and canal boats) and has imaginative lesson ideas and material for cross-curricular work, with links to the contributing museums. The themes covered for work with 7 to 11-year- olds are: moving me, moving people, moving goods, moving landscapes and moving forces. www.learningonthemove.co.uk
