Weird World of Wonders
Actor and TV presenter Tony Robinson and illustrator Del Thorpe have joined forces to create Tony Robinson's Weird World of Wonders.
What is it?
A hilarious and historically accurate series of books that will keep pupils entertained while engaging them with the mysteries of the past. Pupils join the Curiosity Crew - Stig, Grace, Peewee and Jojo - who take them back in time to explore the fascinating, strange and often gory parts of history. The first two titles, now available, introduce the ancient worlds of the Romans and the Egyptians.
Why are they useful?
Give children a laugh as they explore "Handy hints for building a pyramid" or "Grace's guide to making a mummy". Others, such as "Rome's craziest emperors" or "Do I have to go to school?", should excite them about history. The books include comparisons between ancient structures and modern buildings: how do the pyramids measure up against today's skyscrapers?
