EDUCATION officials from Coventry are trying to lure newly-qualified teachers from Northern Ireland to the city with the offer of summer holiday pay. Most city schools have agreed to take on NQTs from July 1 rather than September 1 - adding up to additional pay of between pound;1,500-pound;2,000 Coventry education officials will be plugging the initiative on a recruitment visit to two teacher training institutions in the province. Northern Ireland's teachers have secured a 3.7 per cent pay rise to bring them in line with professionals teaching in England and Wales.
