In last week’s TES Scotland, Stuart Waiton writes of the over-emphasis placed on high self-esteem in schools today and cites Sherlock Holmes as someone with a refreshing “lack of interest in his own emotional state and happiness”.

Would that be the same Sherlock Holmes who was addicted to opium? Enough said.
