Holyrood gets its act together

SOME of the great clowns and comedians played the Edinburgh Festival Theatre in its guise as the old Empire. Another set of entertainers in the guise of MSPs on Holyrood’s education, culture and sport committee have been currently stealing the show during stage two of the school improvement Bill in a room off the main theatre.

No normal parliamentary committee room this, with signe photos of the great stars of yesteryear adorning the walls. By a striking coincidence, Marx and Forsyth gazed out over the left shoulder of Mary Mulligan, Labour’s chair, monitoring proceedings and ensuring political rectitude.

Before politicos rush into frenetic excitement, we can confirm it is Chico and Bruce, not Karl and Michael. Nice to see them, to see them nice.
