Senior pupils at Parklands School in Helensburgh have hosted a “Come Dine With Us” event, preparing a gourmet three-course meal for a group of invited guests.
The six youngsters, aged 14-19, did all the cooking themselves, guided on the day by the chef from the Cruin restaurant in Luss, who offered to supervise the special needs pupils throughout the afternoon as they prepared their feast.
As well as preparing the dishes, the youngsters also planned the menu, designed the table decoration and place settings and made the invitations.
Laura Wailes, 18, said: “We spent a long time preparing for it, and tested out all the possible dishes. We made a selection for each course, then tasted them and decided which to do on the night.”
Two of the six pupils sat down with the guests to sample each course, giving them all the chance to both prepare food and sample it.
