Home teaching plea

The government should provide state funding for parents who decide to educate their children at home, according to the National Foundation for Educational Research. Its study revealed that while some home-educating parents are self sufficient, others feel that they lack support. The NFER recommended that the government offer these parents a basic level of financial assistance, to help them pay for their children’s schoolbooks, educational resources, private tuition and exam-entrance fees.
