A High Court judge has ruled that East Sussex County Council was not entitled to take account of budget shortfalls when it cut home tuition for a 15-year-old girl suffering from ME. Mr Justice Keene acknowledged that his decision could have widespread implications for other councils as the cutback had been “effectively dictated” by a Pounds 3 million reduction in government funding.
