Demountable buildings - or “Portakabins” as they are known to people oblivious to the company’s sensitivities about the misuse of its brand name - are becoming hot property for colleges. So much so that the Association of Colleges is creating a central database of redundant portable buildings so they can be moved around the country to colleges which need them.
