Faith on film

The Tony Blair Faith Foundation's annual film competition, Faith Shorts, is calling for entries for 2012. Young people are invited to submit films on the theme "How my faith inspires me". They should be no longer than three minutes and must be uploaded to YouTube.

"It is my hope that this competition continues to nurture a generation of young people who embrace and respect difference rather than fear it," says Tony Blair.

A former winner, 21-year-old Esteban Pedraza, says: "I wanted to make a good and honest film about how faith impacted on the people I love. The opportunity to present this story of love and sacrifice to an audience was something I didn't want to miss."

There are two age categories: 14-17 and 18-27. Prizes include a trip to London for the awards ceremony and the opportunity to shoot and edit a short film with a professional crew. The closing date is 9 July.
