Government funding cuts will mean only independent schools can afford to offer the International Baccalaureate, state school heads in England have warned. Several state schools are understood to be dropping the IB or abandoning plans to switch to it. Education secretary Michael Gove said last year he was “determined to support a wider take-up” of the IB, an alternative to A-levels.
