WE SHALL overcome our crushing disappointment with a trip to the Daily Mail Ideal Homes Exhibition - not just to study chintz and carpets, but because it seems that Queen Ethelburga’s isn’t the only posh school adopting unusual marketing strategies.
More than 100 independent schools have clubbed together to host a stall at the show (stand number 1806A, since you ask). It’s a natural link, apparently - the Independent Schools Information Service says: “For many parents, thinking about a home goes along with thinking about schools.”
Hmmm. The Diary has never thought of public schools as ideal homes. Unless you’re a parent whose ideal home is one without children, in which case boarding schools are pretty useful.
