Prepare for trenchant analysis on special educational needs in tonight’s opening episode of Bromwell High.

The animated cartoon, which airs at 11.20pm on Channel 4, features the following conversation between two of its schoolgirl heroines, the loose-moralled Latrina and the bullying Keisha.

Keisha: (proudly) “I can’t read because I’ve got Attention Deficit Disorder” Latrina: “What’s that?”

Keisha: “What’s what?”

Teachers’ unions have declined to comment on the programme before it airs, though one NUT official was heard muttering that it sounded “all a bit too real”.
