Children from poorer families are excluded from fully participating in school life including field trips and music lessons, according to the Child Poverty Action Group. The group surveyed parents of 5 to 12-year-olds. One in five families said they were forced to send their children to school without an item of school clothing because they could not afford the full uniform.
