A new website that aims to help teachers, carers and parents of children with special needs was launched by the Department for Education and BECTA at last month’s Education Show in Birmingham.

The site, http:inclusion.ngfl.gov.uk provides resources that teachers, parents and others can download and use with children who have a wide range of difficulties. If no resources are available, te site gives a list of organisations and websites that may be able to assist carers.

Chris Stevens, BECTA’s head of special educational needs, said he hoped teachers would use the site to build communities by placing resources online, writing critiques about how well they had worked in class, and by giving other formsof help and advice. Some 300 resources are already available.
