Air fare, board, accommodation and salary are included and time allowed at the end for travel around the host country. COMMUNITY SERVICE VOLUNTEERS CSV volunteers gain valuable skills and experience which, according to a recent CSV survey of 500 top UK companies, look better on a CV than backpacking or an involvement in student politics. Applications are welcomed from students planning a gap year, or from anyone aged 16 to 35 who is willing to work away from home for four to 12 months. Placements range from working on Glasgow streets with homeless young people to living and working with people with learning difficulties in a rural community in Wales. Volunteers receive free accommodation, food and Pounds 22.50 weekly allowance. Details: 0171 278 6601.

MARY ROSE E-MAIL PROJECT A primary school in Brisbane, Australia, wishes to link up with a British primary school via e-mail in order to research questions and discuss findings about the Mary Rose exhibition in Portsmouth. Rochedale State School saw the Mary Rose touring exhibition when it visited Australia last year and would like to hear from a British school visiting the permanent exhibition this year.
